Misha is a multidisciplinary designer living and working in South Philly. Originally from New Mexico, he relocated to the East Coast to earn his MFA in graphic design from the Maryland Institute College of Art. After a decade in the graphic design industry, he has decided to pivot into becoming a florist. He runs TYST in his free time and sells artwork at markets in Philly, NYC, and surrounding areas.
TYST is a maximalist home decor brand that focuses on bringing bold and colorful forms into people's living spaces.TYST started as a mid-pandemic side project to exercise my extra creative tendencies that weren't being fulfilled as a Graphic Designer. I merely intended it to be a documentation of artistic practice, but as I developed various products for my home, I felt it was apt to share with my community. I decided on the name TYST after sitting in my dining room one peaceful afternoon. The word translates to “quiet” and came about from the warm & highly personal feelings of connection to the objects I’ve curated and collected over the years, and the quiet moment of reflection and memory that it produces. I hope my decor will evoke the same feelings in the folks who choose to take it home.
